What can I tell? Nothing special, and then again so very much. I come from a very small village called Biezenmortel. For me it’s nothing special, but my friends and colleagues an yes, even family, all think it’s hilarious. Now, I’m living in a village nearby with my wife and two boys, so nothing much has changed.
Lots of things happened in all these years of being a trumpetplayer. Most things were and still are very nice. I strarted playing the trumpet when I was eight years old and I still enjoy every minute of it.

After being an amateur for ten years, I started to study the trumpet at the Brabants Conservatory in Tilburg. The fitst study I finished, was DM (second degree) for classical music. My teacher was Beatrijs Kroevaar. After a short second degree period, I decided to stop my classical career. I went to Ack van Rooijen to study at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague. A few years later, I got my UM certificate (second degree) for jazz music.
After my study lots of performances followed with lots of different acts on lots of interesting stages.
A few names with whom I performed; Eddy Floyd, Barbara Lynn, Lalo Shiffrin, Benny Carter, Bill Holman, Ack van Rooijen, Peter Herbolzheimer, Alberto “Molote” Muñoz but also some big Dutch names like; Marco Borsato, Andre Hazes, Lee Towers en Anita Meyer.

At this moment I’m wandering around in Holland but also in other countries with several different orchestras. One of them is the orchtstra of the Royal Dutch Airforce. With this orchestra I perform on a regular basis. Two bands you can see me performing with on South American stages are Willy Latino en Glenn Weisz. In the pop en funk scene I’m playing in a band that goes by the name of Funk Generator.

Performing with all these bands leaves me little time to play with a big band that’s called: het Brabants Jazz Orkest. It’s great fun playing with this band. Especially the project we did last year: Freedom with a feature for Paul van Kemenade on alto sax.

In Europe I’ve seen lots of stages in lots of places. But also on other continents people saw me perform. Places I’ve been to; Tokio an Kyoto, Paramaribo en Muskat (Oman).
